The Role
Ascenda powers global rewards experiences for the world's leading financial institutions. As we scale, we're looking for a
high-performing experienced Data Analyst to join our growing Data Team someone who's not just technically strong, but passionate about using data to drive real-world impact in product and commercial decisions.
You'll help
turn untapped data into trusted, actionable insights shaping metrics, uncovering trends, and enabling smarter decisions across the business. Your work will directly influence customer strategy and growth for millions of users and some of the largest financial brands in the world.
You'll collaborate closely with product managers, commercials, engineers, and data scientists in a modern, fast-moving environment that values autonomy, clarity, and measurable outcomes.
Your Impact
- Translate complex business problems into structured analytical approaches, and lead cross-functional initiatives from scoping to hands-on execution and delivery of insights.
- Build business-critical dashboards (e.g. user growth, product engagement, campaign ROI) using BI tools like Holistics, Superset, AWS Quicksight.
- Define and evolve core business metrics in collaboration with product, commercial, and engineering teams.
- Manage and curate the internal data catalog, ensuring datasets and metrics are well-documented, trusted, and discoverable.
- Conduct exploratory analyses and deep dives to uncover trends, anomalies, and growth opportunities.
- Empower teams through self-service analytics, training, and education, fostering a data-literate, insight-driven culture.
- Collaborate with analytics engineers to build scalable dbt models and semantic layers.
- Design and evaluate experiments (A/B tests) to assess the impact of product and commercial initiatives.
- Work closely with data engineers, scientists, and AI engineers to power machine learning workflows and predictive models.
- Communicate insights through compelling visual storytelling, concise presentations, and clear business recommendations.
- Leverage our modern data stack AWS Redshift, dbt, Airflow, Meltano, Python (Pandas, Jupyter) to move fast with high standards and low friction.
Who You Are
- 5-7 years of experience in a data analyst or analytics role within a tech or product environment.
- Strong skills in SQL and modern BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Quicksight, Superset, Holistics).
- Comfortable managing multiple workstreams, prioritizing based on business impact, and operating with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
- Able to work directly with business stakeholders to define goals, interpret data, and influence decisions.
- Strong communicator able to explain complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with dbt and Python (e.g. Pandas, NumPy) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with modern data stacks like Redshift, BigQuery, Airflow, Airbyte is nice to have.
- Exposure to experimentation, personalization, or customer behavior analytics is a bonus.
- Domain knowledge in fintech, loyalty, banking, e-commerce, or product analytics is a plus, but not required.
