Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the Container Orchestration and Automation team, driving architectural decisions, solution design, and technical governance.
- Lead the transformation of legacy application environments to modern containerised platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for container technologies, guiding engineers in adoption, best practices, and operational standards.
- Design, deploy, and configure Container Orchestration platforms such as OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Kubernetes (K8s) for on-premises and cloud environments.
- Architect and implement cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across multi-cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP).
- Implement system hardening in accordance with industry best practices and security and compliance requirements.
- Provide Level 2 (L2) support, including incident management, root cause analysis, patch management, and change implementation.
- Lead container platform installation, migration, and upgrade projects, ensuring high availability and minimal service disruption.
- Contribute to infrastructure roadmap planning with emphasis on scalability, resiliency, automation, and security.
- Manage and coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure service delivery quality and compliance with SLAs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and security awareness within the team.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years focused on containerisation and orchestration platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and enterprise container platforms (e.g., OpenShift).
- Proven experience designing and implementing multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent automation frameworks.
- Good understanding of Linux systems administration, networking fundamentals, and security hardening principles.
- Experience supporting production environments with exposure to incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tooling.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
- Relevant certifications (preferred), such as:Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) / Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)Red Hat OpenShift CertificationAWS / Azure / GCP Professional-level certificationsSecurity-related certifications are an advantage
