Senior Credit Risk Manager (Credit Approver)

Our client, a well- established international bank with a strong presence in Asia is looking to expand their business within the Asia Pacific region. The firm is looking for a Senior Credit Risk Manager (Credit Approver) to join them.

Job Description

• The candidate will be responsible to oversee the credit approval and review processes for corporate loans (focusing on mid size to large corporates in Asia) ensuring that these corporates meet the bank's risk management standards and compliance requirements.
• Will be responsible for monitoring the performance and quality of the credit portfolio within the bank's Singapore branch.
• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and external regulations.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the branch manager or HQ, which may include special projects or initiatives to support the branch's overall objectives.
• Mentor a team of junior credit approvers/analysts.

Qualification

• Minimum 12 years of experience in credit risk evaluation, portfolio monitoring, corporate/institutional/commercial lending, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of financial modelling, analytical skills, credit principles and banking practices, regulatory requirements, rating mechanisms, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical skills, including evaluating financial statements and credit reports.
• Able to provide thoughtful and balanced risk perspectives to business lines.
• Good communication and organization skills.
• Proficiency in MS office application.
• Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese to enable effective communication with colleagues from North Asia offices
