Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cost Estimator (Mechanical & Electrical) to support complex, large-scale construction projects in Singapore. This role is responsible for developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for M&E systems, supporting tender submissions, project budgeting, and cost management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Mechanical & Electrical systems including HVAC, cleanroom systems, process piping, fire protection, power distribution, lighting, ELV, and BMS.
- Review and analyze drawings, technical specifications, and tender documentation to define scope and pricing requirements.
- Perform quantity take-offs and develop pricing for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontract packages.
- Build comprehensive cost breakdown structures and maintain benchmarking data.
- Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure alignment of technical scope and costing.
- Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimization proposals.
- Participate in tender clarification meetings and client discussions when required.
- Maintain and update cost databases and monitor market trends.
- Prepare cost reports and presentations for management review.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
- Minimum 810 years of relevant experience in M&E cost estimation within construction projects.
- Experience in high-tech, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or data center environments is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Singapore construction practices, regulations, and market pricing.
- Proficiency in cost estimation tools and MS Office applications.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders under tight deadlines.
- Experience in EPC/EPCM project environments is advantageous.
