We are seeking a Senior Management Accountant to support manufacturing operations by managing cost accounting, inventory, and financial analysis activities. The role will focus on ensuring accurate cost reporting, enhancing cost visibility, and supporting business decision-making through detailed financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting & Inventory Management
- Manage cost accounting processes including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
- Analyse manufacturing costs and support inventory movements, transactions, and reconciliations
- Perform inventory roll-forward, excess & obsolescence (E&O) review, and physical inventory count activities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Handle month-end closing activities for cost-related accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Prepare detailed analysis on cost of sales, inventory, and gross margin performance
- Produce monthly and quarterly gross margin reports by product and business line
- Perform fixed and variable cost analysis and provide insights into cost drivers
Planning & Budgeting
- Support preparation of annual operating plan (AOP) for manufacturing costs
- Ensure alignment between cost assumptions, production volumes, and absorption rates
Business Partnering
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Business Units to monitor and control manufacturing costs
- Support operational reviews and preparation of financial presentations
Compliance & Controls
- Maintain and document internal controls, ensuring compliance with SOX requirements
- Support audit and tax reporting requirements
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of cost accounting data in ERP systems
Systems & Process Improvement
- Liaise with IT on costing system enhancements and issue resolution
- Ensure timely and accurate updates of standard costs for new and existing products
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing and/or semiconductor environment
- Strong knowledge of Standard costing, Absorption costing, Variance analysis
- Experience in inventory accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Familiar with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Cognos) and Microsoft Office applications
- Understanding of SOX/internal control frameworks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across functions
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is an added advantage
