Job Description

1. Food Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to recipes or menus.
  • Ensure food is presented professionally and consistently.
  • Handle special dietary requirements or requests.

2. Menu Planning & Development

  • Assist in planning new dishes or updating existing menus.
  • Suggest improvements based on seasonal ingredients or customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with Head Chef or Executive Chef in menu creation.

3. Kitchen Supervision

  • Supervise junior cooks, kitchen assistance, and trainees.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Provide on-the-job training and mentoring.

4. Quality Control & Standards

  • Ensure food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards are strictly followed.
  • Perform quality checks on ingredients and final dishes.
  • Monitor inventory freshness and storage practices.

5. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist in inventory management: ordering, receiving, and stock rotation.
  • Help control food costs and reduce waste.
  • Keep track of portion control and ingredient usage.

6. Communication & Coordination

  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff for special requests or service timing.
  • Report kitchen issues or equipment malfunctions to management.
