The Senior Contracts Specialist will be responsible for bid process, managing and administering complex contracts throughout the project execution. This role ensures that contractual obligations are met, risks are mitigated, and the company's commercial interests are protected. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders and external clients/contractors to provide expert advice on contractual matters, support negotiations, and ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the review, drafting, negotiation, and administration of Shipyard, EPC and Engineering subcontracts.
- Provide strategic advice on contractual risks, obligations, and rights to project teams and management.
- Support tendering activities, including preparation of contract documentation and evaluation of commercial proposals.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure timely resolution of claims, variations, and disputes.
- Liaise with legal, finance, and technical departments to ensure alignment on contractual matters.
- Maintain accurate contract records and ensure compliance with contracting procedures, internal governance and external regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management processes and tools.
- Support prequalification process of all new contractors.
- Maintain and continuous improvement of standard contract exhibits and procedures.
- Mentor junior contract staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- QHSSE Duties - every employee shall:
- Take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or oversights.
- Not interfere with or misuse anything supplied for their health, safety, and welfare.
- Report quality related problems and HSSE hazards or deficits within their area to the QHSSE department.
- Promote and take part in the QHSSE continuous improvement process.
Requirements
- An engineering or law degree from a reputable university.
- Minimum of at least 15 years experience in project controls, cost control, cost engineering or commercial role within the construction industry, preferably in the O&G sector.
