Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Consultant with expertise in Business Analysis on the data governance project in driving end-to-end data governance and regulatory compliance initiatives by identifying Critical Data Elements (CDEs). Lead BCBS 239 (Risk Data Aggregation & Risk Reporting) gap assessments and regulatory remediation from banking industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and define critical data elements (CDEs) based on regulatory reporting requirements and business priorities.
- Develop and maintain data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and metadata documentation.
- Identify source systems and map data elements to regulatory and management reporting requirements.
- Standardize data definitions, business rules, and data specifications to ensure consistency across the organization.
- Engage business users, reporting teams, IT teams, and vendors to gather requirements and validate data lineage and governance processes.
- Assess data quality issues, including completeness, accuracy, consistency, and granularity gaps, and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Define and recommend data quality controls, including validation, reconciliation, exception management, and monitoring processes.
- Establish and validate end-to-end data lineage, covering data sourcing, transformation, and reporting consumption layers.
- Assess data governance frameworks and processes against BCBS239 principles and organizational standards.
- Conduct gap assessments and recommend remediation actions to strengthen regulatory compliance and data governance maturity.
- Support regulatory reviews, audits, and governance assessments through documentation and evidence preparation.
- Define data governance KPIs, data quality metrics, and issue management processes to enhance governance effectiveness.
- Prepare governance reports, status updates, and management presentations for key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 5 - 12 years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management, preferably within the Banking or Financial Services industry. Over all experience not more than 15 years
- Solid understanding of banking operations, regulatory reporting, risk management, and related data governance requirements is required.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to identify and assess how reporting data is sourced, transformed, and generated across systems is required.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with the liability to interpret reporting requirements and establish end-to-end data lineage.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with business users, IT teams, and external vendors.
- Prior experience in BCBS239, Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting (RDARR), and data governance frameworks within the Banking and Financial Services industry.
- Proven experience in establishing or enhancing data lineage, data dictionaries, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Experience conducting BCBS239 assessments, control reviews, regulatory compliance reviews, or remediation programs is mandatory.
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical governance controls, operating processes, and implementation roadmaps.
- Experience with data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or equivalent platforms is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of MAS reporting requirements and banking data structures is preferred.
- Prior experience in banking data governance or enterprise data management initiatives is preferred.
