Job Summary
We are hiring a Senior Consultant with minimum 8 to 13 years of experience in data governance or data management roles within banking institution.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Act as a data governance subject matter expert supporting the Finance Department to align data governance standards with BCBS239 requirements.
- Execute data governance activities by breaking down high-level objectives into actionable tasks and delivering concrete outputs.
- Identify and define Key Data Elements (KDEs) and assess their criticality across finance and risk domains.
- Inventory End User Computing (EUC) tools, assess risks, and determine criticality.
- Analyze and document data aggregation processes across source systems and reporting layers.
- Support the implementation and adoption of data lineage tools and frameworks.
- Leverage prior data governance use cases, methodologies, and best practices to accelerate delivery.
- Define project milestones, governance structures, roles, and responsibilities.
- Combine consulting project management methodologies with the bank's operational approach to create a practical execution plan.
- Establish collaboration frameworks, including role allocation, handover points, and documentation to ensure smooth transition into execution.
- Work closely with Finance, Risk Management, Data Management, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and delivery.
- Prepare materials and reports for management and executive-level stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science or related discipline.
- Must have 8 to 13 years of experience in data governance or data management roles within banking institution. Overall experience not more than 15 years
- Consulting firm experience is a must.
- Minimum 5 years of banking domain experience is mandatory.
- Experience working on BCBS239 principles and data governance frameworks is a mandatory.
- Must have proven ability to manage multi-stakeholder environments, including business, IT, compliance, and vendor teams
- Experience collaborating with Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management teams on internal or regulatory reporting.
- Familiarity with data lineage concepts and must have experience in Collibra tool.
- Understanding of finance & accounting business processes, regulatory reporting, and related systems are a plus.
- Solid project management skills, including progress tracking, issue and risk management, and stakeholder coordination, experience preparing and delivering reports or presentations to senior management or executives and good stakeholder management and communication skills are a plus.
- Strong documentation skills using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
