Senior Consultant/Manager, Data Management (Financial Services)

My client is a leading consulting firm in Asia supporting top-tier enterprise financial service institutions on large-scale data management and modelling projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise data initiatives by developing robust data models, governance frameworks, and data management solutions that support business transformation objectives.

• Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and convert them into effective data architectures, integration designs, and warehouse solutions.

• Drive data quality, lineage, profiling, migration, and impact assessment activities to ensure reliable and trusted data across the organisation.

• Oversee data warehouse and data platform enhancements, while establishing standards and best practices for data governance and management.

• Serve as the key link between business and technical teams, ensuring data solutions meet operational and strategic goals.

• Produce and maintain project documentation, support testing and implementation activities, and provide ongoing guidance on data architecture and modelling practices.

• Manage multiple stakeholders and deliverables, ensuring successful execution of data-related projects in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or a related discipline, with exposure to enterprise or regional transformation programmes.

• At least 5 years of experience in data management, data analysis, and data modelling, preferably within banking, financial services, or other regulated sectors.

• Solid understanding of data governance principles, including data quality, stewardship, ownership, standards, and lineage management.

• Strong business analysis skills with experience in requirements elicitation, process improvement, impact analysis, and user acceptance testing.

• Advanced SQL proficiency and proven ability to work with large, complex datasets.

• Knowledge of data visualisation platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.

• Good understanding of data warehousing, master data management, data mapping, data profiling, and end-to-end data flows.

• Experience designing scalable data models and producing business and technical documentation to support project delivery.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Highly independent, delivery-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities with strong ownership and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with Python, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and Agile methodologies is an advantage.
