Job Description

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to lead the end-to-end delivery of complex cyber security consulting engagements. This is a senior individual contributor role responsible for owning project delivery, leading customer engagements, developing advanced consulting capabilities, and mentoring consultants.

The successful candidate will possess deep technical expertise across offensive security, security architecture and cyber defence, with the ability to solve complex security challenges, deliver high-quality outcomes for customers, and contribute to the development of innovative security services. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy combining hands-on technical work with customer engagement, technical solution design, capability development, research and modern AI-enabled consulting practices.

The role requires a strong appreciation of enterprise technology environments, the ability to understand customer business and technical requirements, and the capability to translate these requirements into practical technical solutions that can be delivered through both consulting and engineering teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

Consulting and Project Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex cyber security consulting engagements from planning through execution, reporting and customer presentation.
  • Serve as the technical lead for assigned engagements, ensuring quality, timeliness and customer satisfaction.
  • Design and execute bespoke technical assessments tailored to customer environments and objectives.
  • Produce clear, accurate and actionable technical reports and executive summaries.
  • Present technical findings, risks and remediation recommendations to both technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure engagements are delivered in accordance with internal methodologies, quality standards and customer requirements.

Security Architecture and Technical Solution Design

  • Work closely with customers to understand their business processes, technology landscape, security architecture and operational constraints.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of customer environments to identify security risks, architectural weaknesses and opportunities for improving resilience.
  • Perform threat modelling, attack path analysis and security architecture assessments to identify realistic attack scenarios and opportunities for enhancing security through technical controls and security validation activities.
  • Analyse enterprise environments to understand likely attacker behaviour, critical assets, trust relationships and attack paths.
  • Design customer-specific security validation and technical assessment approaches based on business objectives and risk profiles.
  • Translate customer requirements, architectural constraints and assessment outcomes into clear technical specifications for implementation by internal engineering teams.
  • Produce high-quality technical design documentation, implementation guidance and deployment recommendations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams throughout implementation to ensure proposed solutions meet customer objectives and operational requirements.
  • Validate implemented solutions through technical testing and customer acceptance activities where appropriate.

Capability Development

  • Contribute to the design, refinement and continuous improvement of consulting methodologies, playbooks and technical standards.
  • Develop reusable tooling, automation and technical frameworks that improve delivery quality and efficiency.
  • Support the development of new consulting capabilities aligned with emerging threats, technologies and customer needs.
  • Participate in internal research initiatives to evaluate new technologies, enterprise platforms and security products.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce innovative approaches into consulting engagements.
  • Contribute to technical knowledge sharing, internal capability development and continuous improvement initiatives.

AI-enabled Consulting and Delivery

  • Leverage AI-assisted tools and agentic workflows to improve the efficiency, consistency and quality of consulting engagements.
  • Apply AI responsibly to support activities such as threat modelling, technical analysis, attack path exploration, documentation and solution design.
  • Utilise AI-enabled engineering approaches to accelerate technical assessments, improve analysis and enhance consulting deliverables while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive consulting activities through scripting, orchestration and AI-assisted workflows.
  • Work closely with AI engineering teams to improve internal consulting platforms, technical workflows and delivery capabilities.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging AI capabilities that can enhance consulting methodologies and customer outcomes.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to consultants and junior team members.
  • Review technical deliverables to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Assist project teams in resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Promote knowledge sharing through technical presentations, workshops and internal training.
  • Act as a subject matter expert within designated technical domains.

Customer Engagement

  • Build trusted relationships with customers throughout engagement lifecycles.
  • Support pre-sales activities including technical discussions, workshops, solution design and proposal development.
  • Translate customer business objectives into effective technical assessment and implementation approaches.
  • Provide practical security recommendations that balance risk, business objectives and operational realities.
  • Represent the organisation professionally during customer engagements and stakeholder interactions.

Research and Innovation

  • Maintain awareness of emerging threats, attacker techniques, security technologies and industry trends.
  • Conduct technical research into enterprise technologies, security products and evolving attack techniques.
  • Evaluate new tools, methodologies and engineering approaches to enhance consulting capabilities.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge repositories, research papers and technical publications where appropriate.
  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to improve consulting services and technical capabilities.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as OSCP, CREST CRT/CCT, CISSP, OSCE, OSEP, CRTO, GXPN, SABSA, TOGAF or equivalent are highly regarded.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cyber security consulting, offensive security, security engineering or related technical roles.
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading complex technical consulting engagements from planning through successful delivery.
  • Experience working directly with customers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Experience performing technical assessments across enterprise environments and modern technology platforms.
  • Experience producing high-quality technical documentation, architecture recommendations and customer reports.
  • Experience mentoring technical teams and reviewing technical deliverables.
  • Experience developing consulting methodologies, technical frameworks or automation capabilities is advantageous.

Technical Skills

  • Modern software engineering and systems integration concepts.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and agentic workflows for technical delivery and automation.
