Job Summary:
The Senior Construction Supervisor cum Driver is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction site activities, ensuring work is executed according to design, schedule, and safety standards, while also performing driving duties, including transporting staff, materials, and equipment to and from the site. This dual role requires a hands-on leader with strong knowledge of construction practices and a valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Supervision Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate site workers, subcontractors, and activities on construction sites.
- Ensure construction work aligns with project specifications, drawings, quality, and safety standards.
- Monitor work progress and provide daily/weekly updates to the Project Manager.
- Assist in planning daily work activities and resource allocation.
- Identify and resolve on-site issues or escalate them to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain site logs, reports, and documentation.
- Conduct toolbox talks and enforce safety compliance among workers.
- Monitor material usage and report shortages or discrepancies.
Driving Duties:
- Operate the company vehicle to transport workers, tools, materials, and equipment to and from construction sites.
- Ensure the vehicle is maintained in good condition, including regular cleaning, servicing, and inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of travel and fuel usage.
- Follow traffic laws and company driving policies at all times.
- Assist with loading and unloading construction materials when needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a construction supervisor or foreman.
- Valid Singapore driver's license (light/heavy vehicle, as applicable).
- Clean driving record.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Physically fit and capable of manual work when required.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or certificate in civil engineering or construction management.
- Valid certifications in safety (e.g., OSHA, First Aid, etc.).
- Experience in operating light machinery or equipment (e.g., forklifts, pickups, etc.).
Working Conditions:
- Field-based role requiring time on active construction sites.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- May require overtime, weekends, or extended hours depending on project needs.
