Job Description

Job Summary: The Senior Construction Manager - Scaffolding Works is responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating scaffolding construction operations at project sites. The role ensures that all scaffolding activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local regulatory standards such as MOM, BCA, WSH Act, and industry best practices. The position also oversees project teams, subcontractors, timelines, resources, and cost controls. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution Lead and manage scaffolding projects from planning to completion. Review project drawings, specifications, and method statements. Plan scaffolding erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling schedules. Ensure proper coordination with clients, consultants, engineers, and subcontractors. Safety & Compliance Ensure full compliance with Workplace Safety & Health regulations, MOM guidelines, and industry standards. Review and approve Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Permit-to-Work (PTW), and method statements. Conduct site safety audits, toolbox meetings, and safety briefings. Ensure scaffolding inspections are carried out by competent personnel and documented properly. Resource & Team Management Lead and supervise the scaffolding team including supervisors, scaffold inspectors, foremen, and workmen. Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment according to project requirements. Provide training and skill development for scaffold workers and new team members. Quality Assurance Ensure all scaffold structures meet engineering, safety, and quality specifications. Verify scaffold stability, load-bearing capacity, access solutions, and tagging requirements. Resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions when needed. Budgeting & Reporting Prepare cost estimates, project budgets, and material requisitions. Monitor progress against schedules and budget forecasts. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports and submit to management. Skills & Competencies: Strong technical knowledge of scaffolding design, installation, and safety regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and supervisory skills. Ability to interpret structural drawings, load calculations, and engineering specifications. Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Proficient in project management tools and documentation processes. Qualifications & Experience: Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 7-10 years experience in scaffolding operations within construction, marine, or industrial sectors. Valid WSQ/BCA Scaffolding Supervisor / Manager Certification (if required by country regulations). Experience in large-scale infrastructure, building, petrochemical, or marine projects is advantageous. Estimates and supervisory skills Reporting To: Project Director / Construction Director
