Senior Communications & Brand Manager, Region APAC ex. China

This role drives provides communications advisory and support across APAC ex. China. It coordinates all internal communications activities from the region for the region and with individual markets, fostering functional excellence, consistency, and alignment across diverse countries.

With a primary focus on internal communications, the role defines and delivers compelling narratives and develops high-quality content fit for the region's needs and aligned with the Group's strategy and focus areas across multiple digital formats and channels. As part of the Group Communications team, the role smartly leverages available channels to improve the visibility of the APAC (ex. China) region and its leadership within the region and across the Sonova Group in meaningful and relevant ways.

External communications activities are supported by the China Corporate Affairs team, with this role partnering closely to ensure alignment with global positioning and regional priorities.

Communications & Executive Advisory

  • Consultant and support the APAC leadership team in all communication-related matters.
  • Develop, implement and lead a comprehensive regional communications strategy aligned with Sonova's global priorities and regional business goal and embed a regular information flow within the APAC region.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Regional President and leadership team on high-impact communications, executive visibility, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Shape and localize global campaigns and messaging for regional relevance, including transformation, innovation, and employer branding initiatives.
  • Identify, sponsor, and coordinate high-value opportunities to position Sonova and its leadership prominently within the region, including industry events, thought leadership platforms, and strategic partnerships in close cooperation with the China Corporate Affairs and Group Communications team.
  • Partner closely with the global Group Communications teams to ensure consistent corporate brand voice, strategic alignment, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

  • Drive employee engagement through compelling storytelling, leadership visibility, and impactful formats such as town halls, video messages, and digital platforms.
  • Lead executive communications for the Regional President, including speechwriting, internal messaging, and thought leadership positioning.
  • Coach and enable regional leaders to communicate authentically and effectively, fostering transparency and alignment.
  • Ensure the region is suitably represented on Sonova's global internal channels.
  • Bring Sonova APAC stories and achievements to the attention of the wider Sonova Group (feed stories on OneSonova, social media, Town halls, etc.).

Change & Transformation Communications

  • Ensure proactive communication planning and execution during periods of transition, supporting business continuity and stakeholder confidence.
  • Lead and own strategic communications and execution for change and transformation initiatives across the region, ensuring clarity, consistency, and employee engagement.Translate complex change initiatives into clear, actionable messaging that resonates with diverse audiences across the region
  • Partner with HR and business leaders to support cultural transformation and organizational shifts with tailored, actionable communication plans.

Digital & Social Media

  • Oversee regional digital communications and social media presence, ensuring alignment with Sonova's global tone, voice, and governance in close collaboration with the China Corp Affairs team.
  • Ensure the global social media strategy and governance framework are clearly understood and consistently applied across the region (train for understanding and compliance), driving the region's visibility and best practice within the Group.
  • Support activation of employees as brand ambassadors through training, guidelines, and content support—especially on LinkedIn.
  • Drive the strategic and hands-on positioning of Sonova in the region – including the the Regional President and key country leaders - on reputational themes through compelling social media content and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Ensure region is suitably represented on Sonova's global external social channels
  • Monitor performance and optimize regional digital efforts using Sonova's media monitoring and analytics tools.

Reputation Management & Media Relations

  • Support external, China-led regional reputation management by identifying risks and opportunities and providing strategic input and support, aligned with the Group's Director Brand, Reputation and Digital Communications.
  • Assist in media engagement and strategic positioning around global key themes and campaigns (e.g., innovation, hearing care), aligned with China-led communications and Group Media Relations
  • Support visibility of Sonova and regional leaders through targeted initiatives (eg, round tables, panels), pre-aligned with and supported by China and Group Communications where relevant.

Basic Education

  • Master's degree in communications, Public Affairs, Journalism, or a related field.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in corporate communications and/or public affairs.
  • Proven track record combining strategic oversight with hands-on execution within a global matrix organization.
  • Success in advising and influencing senior executives and managing high-stakes communications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in social media strategy, particularly on LinkedIn.
  • Global work experience within or with complex, international companies.
