Senior Director - Data Center Commissioning (Cx)

Role Overview
A global digital infrastructure organization is seeking a Senior Director - Data Center Commissioning (Cx) to lead end-to-end commissioning for large-scale data centers. This role ensures all MEP, electrical, cooling, automation, and IT systems meet design intent, global standards, and operational readiness before go‑live.
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning Leadership
- Lead strategy, planning, and execution of commissioning activities across all project phases.
- Manage pre-functional tests, functional tests, IST, FAT, and SAT for all critical systems.
- Drive system integration, sequencing, and performance verification.
Quality, Compliance & Handover
- Ensure compliance with Uptime, TIA‑942, ASHRAE, NFPA, and mission‑critical standards.
- Oversee documentation, QA processes, and client handover packages.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure a smooth transition into live environments.
Risk & Reliability Management
- Identify system risks, design gaps, and reliability issues early.
- Lead redundancy checks, failover tests, load bank testing, and thermal validation.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
Digitalization & Continuous Improvement
- Implement BIM-supported workflows, digital twins, and analytics-driven tools.
- Enhance commissioning processes through automation, metrics, and best practices.
- Drive lessons-learned programs for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- 20+ years in commissioning for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Proven leadership and hands-on experience delivering complex, large-scale commissioning programs.
- Deep technical knowledge of MEP, power distribution, cooling, and automation systems.
- Strong understanding of global data center standards and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with BIM, digital twins, real-time dashboards, and analytics.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership.
