Overview
We are seeking a Cloud Security Engineer with strong people skills and solid project execution capability. The ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on in cloud security fundamentals, able to work collaboratively with teams, and comfortable managing tasks and deliverables without needing to be highly senior. This role is suited for someone with a good foundation and the drive to grow, while still bringing dependable expertise to the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and support cloud security controls across enterprise environments.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application and security teams to ensure secure design, deployment and operations.
• Participate in security reviews, assessments and architecture discussions for cloud-hosted systems.
• Support and maintain Privileged Access Management (PAM) controls, including onboarding, review, troubleshooting, and lifecycle governance.
• Assist in planning and executing cloud security projects, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
• Contribute to development of security policies, standards and guidelines related to cloud adoption.
• Investigate and respond to cloud-related security alerts, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
• Prepare technical documentation, diagrams and reports for stakeholders.
• Educate and guide teams on secure cloud practices with a collaborative and approachable communication style.
Requirements
• Good understanding of cloud security concepts (identity, access control, network segmentation, encryption, monitoring, logging, configuration management).
• Hands-on knowledge of PAM principles, workflows and best practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well across teams and explain security concepts clearly.
• Demonstrated project management skills — able to organise tasks, follow through on commitments, and handle multiple workstreams.
• Experience supporting cloud environments in an engineering or security capacity.
• Familiarity with common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO27001) is an advantage.
• A proactive, positive attitude with willingness to learn, contribute, and steadily grow into more responsibility.
Good-to-Have
• Exposure to automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code for security operations.
• Experience participating in audits or compliance reviews.
