As Airwallex's engineering organization matures, our Infrastructure teams are pivotal to building a globally distributed platform, increasing engineer productivity, and ensuring effective use of resources. The Networking team delivers a reliable and secure cloud and physical network that underpins Airwallex's global financial infrastructure.
About the role
As a Senior/Staff Network Engineer, you will be a senior individual contributor collaborating with key domain teams such as Payments Platform, Tech Platform, and GTPN Platform to deliver highquality solutions and uphold an SLA higher than 99.999%. You will leverage modern tooling to streamline delivery and ensure our network meets regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
Plan, design, build, and operate the network environments that power Airwallex's financial infrastructure across cloud and data centers.
Crossconnect IDCs and public clouds to build and maintain a global, highperformance network.
Define and implement cybersecurity strategies and controls to satisfy compliance and audit requirements.
Deploy and operate network monitoring/observability to rapidly detect and troubleshoot faults and performance issues.
Manage and secure network and security hardware (e.g., switches, routers, HSMs) across environments.
Partner with domain teams to plan changes, execute safe rollouts, and continuously improve reliability and efficiency of network services in regulated environments.
We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications below. Preferred qualifications are great to have, but not mandatory.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in enterprisescale network planning, design, and operations.
Bachelor's degree (or above) in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
Handson with mainstream switching, routing, and firewall platforms strong proficiency in BGP, IPsec, and MPLS.
Experience with public cloud networking and interconnects (e.g., AWS and Google Cloud).
Proficiency in at least one programming language for automation (Golang or Python).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
Preferred qualifications
CCIE or JNCIE certification.
Familiarity with Equinix and Megaport for global interconnects.
Experience with infrastructureascode and GitOps tooling, such as Terraform, Ansible, ArgoCD, and Helm.
