Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS / Government Project)

Job Description

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design, operations, and continuous improvement of government-grade cloud platforms operating in GCC-compliant environments. This role combines hands-on platform operations, ITSM-driven service management, and project delivery for cloud initiatives such as migrations, platform enhancements, and security uplift programmes.

You will work closely with government stakeholders, security teams, vendors, and application owners to ensure cloud platforms are secure, resilient, compliant, and operationally efficient, while meeting audit and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and support AWS / Azure cloud platforms in regulated environments.

• Manage Day-2 operations: incident, problem, change, availability, and capacity.

• Ensure compliance with government security, audit, and governance standards.

• Implement monitoring, automation, backup, and recovery solutions.

• Deliver cloud initiatives including migrations, upgrades, and platform enhancements.

• Apply ITIL / ITSM practices and support SLA/KPI reporting.

• Coordinate with stakeholders and vendors on service delivery and issue resolution.

Requirements

• Strong experience in cloud platform operations (AWS or Azure).

• Experience in government, GCC, or regulated environments preferred.

• Knowledge of ITIL processes, security controls, and compliance.

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code and automation.

• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills.

Nice to Have

• Cloud certifications (AWS / Azure).

• ITIL certification.

• Experience with GovCloud / GCC platforms.
