Senior Chemist

Job Summary

We are looking for a Senior Chemist to support laboratory testing and analysis petrochemical products. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests as per the ISO specification, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with testing standards, and maintaining laboratory quality and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory testing and analysis (e.g. Marine Fuel Oil and Marine Gas Oil).

• Prepare accurate test results, laboratory reports, and documentation.

• Ensure testing is carried out in accordance with ISO standards, IMO regulations and other related standards.

• Handle, label, store, and dispose of samples properly.

• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration and cleanliness.

• Assist in method development, validation, and quality control checks.

• Support ISO audits and maintain proper laboratory records.

• Coordinate with operations and technical teams on test requirements and timelines.

• Follow all laboratory safety, health, and environmental procedures.
  
  Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of laboratory experience in the same role (fuel testing).

  • Knowledge of laboratory testing methods, quality control, and safety procedures.

  • Familiar with ISO laboratory practices (ISO 17025 is an advantage).

  • Able to work independently with strong attention to detail.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
