Job duties:
- Assist clients with basic and instrumental activities of daily living (e.g., personal hygiene, feeding, nasogastric tube feeding, transfers).
- Ensure a safe, organised, and clean environment in both household and common areas.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families through regular interactions.
- Identify and appropriately manage behavioural concerns among seniors, escalating issues when necessary.
- Plan, curate, and facilitate recreational and therapeutic programmes (e.g., baking, arts and crafts, exercise, cognitively stimulating activities) for seniors, including those with dementia and mental health conditions.
- Supervise and engage seniors to encourage active participation in centre activities.
- Monitor and document seniors participation levels in programmes.
- Conduct range of motion (ROM) exercises and mobility training.
- Incorporate maintenance rehabilitation activities into seniors daily routines.
- Observe and record seniors responses and progress during sessions, escalating findings to therapy or nursing staff for care improvement.
- Assist with serving pre-packed medication, eye drop administration, and prescribed topical applications.
- Monitor health indicators (e.g., vital signs, glucose levels, oxygen saturation) and escalate concerns to nursing staff.
- Administer CPR/AED and first aid, taking an active role during emergency situations.
- Adhere strictly to infection control practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
- Assist in monitoring and managing inventories as required.
Job requirements:
- Minimum GCE N Level or relevant certificate
- Preferably holds a Certificate in Healthcare Support, WSQ Home Care certification, or a related qualification
