Senior Execution Systems Engineer — Quant Trading
We are looking for a Senior Execution Systems Engineer to build and improve the low-latency trading infrastructure powering our systematic US equities strategies.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance execution systems for automated trading.
- Develop reliable order routing, order management, position tracking, risk controls, and broker/exchange connectivity.
- Optimize execution latency, throughput, reliability, and fault tolerance across the trading stack.
- Work closely with quant researchers and traders to translate strategy requirements into production-ready execution logic.
- Build tools for real-time monitoring, logging, alerts, kill switches, and post-trade execution analysis.
- Improve fill quality through smarter order placement, retry logic, liquidity interaction, and slippage-aware execution.
- Handle live trading issues quickly and systematically, including debugging production incidents.
- Contribute to architecture decisions around scalability, redundancy, deployment, and operational risk.
Requirements
- Strong experience in C++ or another high-performance systems language.
- Experience building or maintaining live trading, execution, OMS, EMS, or market connectivity systems.
- Strong understanding of order lifecycle, market data, position/risk management, and real-time systems.
- Familiarity with US equities market structure, broker APIs, FIX, WebSocket feeds, or direct market access is a strong plus.
- Comfortable working with latency-sensitive, production-critical systems where reliability matters.
- Strong debugging skills, clean engineering habits, and ability to write robust, maintainable code.
- Experience with Linux, networking, concurrency, multithreading, and performance profiling.
- Ability to work closely with traders/quants in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with small/mid-cap US equities, short selling, borrow constraints, HTB names, or intraday strategies.
- Prior experience at a prop trading firm, hedge fund, market maker, broker, or trading technology company.
- Knowledge of FIX protocol, exchange/broker connectivity, order throttling, smart order routing, and execution analytics.
- Experience with C++, Python, ClickHouse, Redis, Kafka, Docker, cloud infrastructure, or low-latency monitoring tools.
What You'll Work On
- Production execution engine for systematic US equities trading.
- Real-time risk checks and automated kill-switch infrastructure.
- Broker/exchange connectivity and order routing logic.
- Fill-quality analytics and execution optimization.
- Infrastructure for scaling from research strategies to live capital deployment.
Ideal Candidate
- You are a serious systems engineer who understands that in live trading, small bugs become real losses. You care about speed, but you care even more about correctness, resilience, observability, and graceful failure. You can work close to the metal, debug under pressure, and build systems that traders can trust with real money.
