About the Role
The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and expanding existing accounts. This role requires a commercially driven professional with a strong understanding of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry, excellent relationship management skills, and a proven ability to achieve sales targets. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and executing business development strategies, leading client engagements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional event and travel solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across corporate, government, association, and agency sectors.
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.
Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline through networking, referrals, market research, and lead generation activities.
Conduct market analysis to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, networking sessions, and client meetings.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
Manage strategic client accounts and identify opportunities for account growth, cross-selling, and upselling.
Understand clients business objectives and provide tailored solutions that meet their event and travel requirements.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.
Prepare compelling proposals, quotations, presentations, and tender submissions.
Lead commercial negotiations and contract discussions while ensuring profitable outcomes.
Monitor sales performance, forecasts, and pipeline activity to ensure targets are met.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using CRM systems.
Mentor and coach junior sales or business development team members.
Share market intelligence and best practices across the team.
Contribute to the development and refinement of business development strategies and sales processes.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, Event Management, or a related discipline
Minimum of 6-8 years of business development, sales, or account management experience, preferably within the MICE, events, hospitality, travel, or related industries
Proven track record of consistently achieving or exceeding sales and revenue targets
Experience managing key accounts and negotiating high-value commercial agreements
Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications
