Job Description

Reporting to the Country Director -Singapore, the Senior Business Manager will build and manage a profitable engineering and technical staffing business unit. The position combines new client acquisition, strategic account development, recruitment and management of technical consultants, team leadership and full commercial performance responsibility. The role is suited to a proven business manager who has successfully grown a consultant portfolio within an engineering, energy or industrial consulting environment and who can operate autonomously across international markets.

The successful candidate will be expected to take over an existing commercial and consultant-management scope, ensure business continuity and rapidly assume autonomous responsibility for the development and performance of the portfolio.

Key responsibilities:

Business development and strategic account management:

. Define and execute a commercial development plan for Singapore and selected Southeast Asian markets.

. Prospect, open and develop accounts among energy operators, EPC contractors, engineering companies, shipyards, industrial groups and project owners.

. Build durable relationships with C-level executives, procurement teams, project directors and technical decision-makers.

. Qualify client needs and design tailored technical staffing and project-support solutions.

. Lead commercial negotiations, framework agreements, proposals, rates and contractual terms while protecting target margins.

. Maintain a disciplined sales pipeline, account plan and activity forecast using the company CRM and reporting tools.

Recruitment consultant management and delivery:

. Translate client requirements into clear technical and behavioral candidate specifications.

. Work closely with internal recruitment teams to identify, assess and select engineers, technicians and project professionals across multiple disciplines.

. Conduct interviews, present shortlisted profiles and manage the process through client selection, offer alignment and mobilization.

. Manage consultants throughout their assignments, including onboarding, performance follow-up, retention, extensions and issue resolution.

. Coordinate cross-border assignments involving international recruitment, expatriation, work authorization and multi-country stakeholders.

. Ensure high client satisfaction, consultant engagement and compliance with EP2C processes.

Business unit leadership and P&L management:

. Own and monitor the business unit P&L, including revenue, gross margin, headcount, utilization, pipeline conversion and cash collection.

. Prepare budgets, forecasts, business reviews and corrective action plans for the Country Director and regional management.

. Build and progressively lead ahigh-performing team of consultants and, depending on business growth, junior commercial staff.

. Coach team members, set clear objectives and maintain high standards of commercial discipline and delivery.

. Coordinate with administration, finance and recruitment teams regarding purchase orders, timesheets, invoicing readiness and payment follow-up.

. Contribute to the continuous improvement of EP2C Singapore's commercial and operational processes.

Requirements:

. Master's degree in business, engineering, international management or another relevant discipline.

. Approximately 3-6years of successful experience in business management, business development or account management within engineering consulting, technical staffing, project services or a comparable B2B industrial-services environment.

. Demonstrated responsibility for a consultant portfolio or business unit, including revenue and gross-margin performance.

. Proven track record in opening accounts, negotiating with senior client stakeholders and converting qualified opportunities into assignments.

. Hands-on experience recruiting and managing engineers, technicians or project professionals across relevant industrial disciplines.

. Exposure to the energy, engineering, infrastructure, marine, industrial construction or other project-driven sectors.

. Experience coaching junior commercial team members or coordinating multidisciplinary teams is a strong advantage.

. Demonstrated experience working effectively across international or multicultural business environments, countries and time zones. Prior exposure to Singapore or Southeast Asian industrial markets is advantageous but not essential.

. Fluent professional English, written and spoken.

. Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office and business performance reporting tools.
