About the Role
This is a pioneering role responsible for building and scaling the adoption of Lyocell as the material of choice in home textiles and garments by fashion, hospitality, and retail brands globally. The incumbent will open new brand partnerships, develop untapped market segments, and drive Lyocell's commercial presence outside China — essentially building the playbook from the ground up.
Working hands-on across the value chain — from fibre to brand to retail — the role requires a self-driven professional who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership of outcomes, and can translate early-stage opportunities into scalable commercial results under The Lyocell Company brand.
Key Responsibilities
Market Development
- Identify and pursue new growth opportunities across hospitality, retail, and fashion segments to drive Lyocell adoption from the ground up
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies that translate white-space opportunities into actionable, measurable initiatives
Brand Engagement
- Proactively build new and deepen existing partnerships with global and local brands across hospitality and retail to increase usage and visibility of Lyocell-based products
- Develop a structured engagement roadmap for target brands, tailoring approaches by segment, region, and application
- Support brand partners in growing their Lyocell product lines through hands-on collaboration and creative problem-solving
Channel Expansion
- Collaborate with offline and online retail channels to increase penetration and visibility of Lyocell products
- Drive initiatives that enhance end-market pull through brand and retail activation
Cross Region Collaboration
- Partner with Sateri and APR teams to align global brand engagement strategies and execution
- Coordinate with in country Business Developers to ensure consistency in approach for global brands
- Identify synergies across regions, markets, and applications to accelerate Lyocell adoption
Brand & Marketing Coordination
- Coordinate with non-China and China marketing teams to translate and adapt Lyocell brand and marketing strategy for international markets
- Translate brand and market insights into effective commercial and marketing tools
- Support the planning and execution of key commercial events and industry engagements
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related disciplines; advanced degree preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- At least 15 years of experience in business development, retail marketing, or brand management across B2B and B2C environments
- Demonstrated success in building new markets, partnerships, or revenue streams from the ground up (0-to-1 track record)
- Strong understanding of brand engagement within consumer-driven industries (e.g., textiles, fashion, hospitality, retail)
- Experience coordinating brand or marketing strategies across multiple markets, including working with both regional and headquarters-level marketing teams
- Proven track record in developing markets and driving commercial outcomes through partnerships
- Ability to influence and align stakeholders across regions and functions in a matrix environment
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate market insights into actionable plans
- Strong communication skills with fluency in English and Mandarin
