Job Summary:

We are seeking a Business Development & Key Account Manager to drive growth in the Japan market, focusing on OEM partners, data center operators, engineering consultants, and industrial end-users. The role is responsible for executing market entry strategy, developing strategic accounts, and building a sustainable long-term pipeline across the data center, marine, and offshore sectors.

A key focus is specification-based selling, influencing early-stage project design through consultants and system integrators. The role requires strong relationship management, technical B2B sales capability, and experience in long-cycle, project-driven environments.

Familiarity with fire safety systems or related technical industries, as well as understanding of Japanese regulatory frameworks (e.g. Fire Service Act), is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a structured market entry and growth strategy for Japan
  • Identify, engage, and build partnerships with OEMs as a primary focus
  • Establish relationships with data centre operators, industrial end-users, and key stakeholders
  • Build and maintain relationships with engineering consultants and specification influencers
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and generate actionable market intelligence
  • Navigate regulatory requirements, including the Fire Service Act and relevant compliance standards
  • Represent the organization at exhibitions, technical seminars, and client engagements
  • Develop and sustain a strong business pipeline within assigned sectors
  • Manage and grow key accounts in the data centre and marine & offshore sectors
  • Develop structured account plans and strengthen long-term commercial partnerships
  • Collaborate with internal technical and operations teams to align project delivery
  • Drive specification positioning, repeat business, and early-stage OEM/system integrator engagement
  • Support contract negotiations and long-term framework agreements

Requirements:

[Must Have]

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Development or Key Account Management
  • Japanese language proficiency required for effective communication with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability in commercial negotiations and relationship management
  • Strong capability in developing market strategies and managing key accounts across regions
  • Willingness to travel within Japan and Asia Pacific (Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia)

[Advantage]

  • Experience in fire suppression, industrial safety, or related technical industries is preferred
  • Experience working with OEMs and engineering consultants is an added advantage
  • Familiarity with Japanese regulatory frameworks such as the Fire Service Act (FESC) is an added advantage
