Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirement elicitation workshops with business, operations, and compliance stakeholders to define end-to-end payment flows and exception handling
- Own and manage documentation including BRDs, FSDs, user stories, and API specifications ensuring full traceability
- Drive functional solution design and gap analysis for payment platforms across multiple markets
- Support and coordinate SIT and UAT cycles, including defect triage, resolution, and business sign-off
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering to ensure smooth delivery
- Manage multi-country payment implementations including cross-border and domestic schemes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and messaging standards such as ISO 20022 and ISO 8583
- Oversee release readiness, risk management, and production support coordination
- Improve reconciliation processes and reporting mechanisms for payment systems
Scope of Work / Domain Expertise
- Domestic & Cross-Border Payments (NEFT, RTGS, SEPA, SWIFT, FPS, SIC, BACS, TARGET2, ITMX, BAHTNET, BBPS)
- Payment processing, bill payments, direct debits, mandates, and e-mandates
- Payment switch integration, API-based integrations, and channel connectivity
- Banking platforms and high-volume transaction systems
- Regional exposure across APAC, Middle East, and Europe
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in Business Analysis within Banking/Payments domain
- Expertise in requirement gathering, functional design, and documentation (BRD/FSD)
- Solid understanding of ISO 20022, ISO 8583, and payment processing flows
- Experience in Agile and SDLC methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Hands-on experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence
- Knowledge of APIs, integration concepts, and data formats (XML/JSON)
- Working knowledge of SQL, UNIX, and basic Java is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across regions
Leadership & Delivery Expectations
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with global stakeholders
- Drive workshops, functional walkthroughs, and client discussions
- Ensure timely delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timelines
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to team capability building
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with enterprise payment platforms (e.g., TCS BaNCS or similar)
- Exposure to Generative AI, NLP, or automation-driven transformation initiatives
- Experience in high-volume banking environments and regulatory-driven projects
Experience & Education
- 8-12+ years of experience in Business Analysis within banking/payments
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Nice to Have
- Certifications in Agile, Business Analysis, or Payments
- Experience in cross-border regulatory environments and compliance frameworks
- Exposure to AI/ML or data-driven initiatives in banking
