Job Description

I am currently looking for a Senior Biologist - Early Discovery for one of my R&D client specialized in RNAi and siRNA therapeutics development.

Job Title: Senior Biologist - Early Discovery

Salary: Competitive Market Rate

Type: Full Time

Location: Singapore, Central

The Senior Biologist will lead target identification and validation (hepatic/extrahepatic), RNAi/siRNA sequence design, and novel AOC/PCC modality exploration, applying strong expertise in RNAi biology and early discovery to drive programs from early discovery to PCC nomination.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and prioritization of novel targets (including both hepatic and extrahepatic) for RNAi therapeutics, including target feasibility assessment, biological rationale development, and target selection criteria establishment.
  • Design and optimize RNAi/siRNA sequences for validated targets, considering potency, specificity, and off‑target effects.
  • Lead the exploration and evaluation of novel AOC/PCC modalities for RNAi therapeutic delivery.
  • Design and execute experiments for target validation and mechanism‑of‑action studies.
  • Collaborate closely with Senior Chemist and Antibody Scientist teams to co‑develop and optimize new AOC/PCC platforms.
  • Develop and implement robust assays to evaluate RNAi/siRNA potency, specificity, and duration of effect across different modalities.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of novel delivery systems for RNAi therapeutics.
  • Establish and maintain a seamless and effective working model with the Suzhou discovery team, including regular scientific alignment, joint experimental design, transparent data sharing, and project timelines to ensure efficient cross‑site collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, or a related discipline with minimum 5 years of industry experience in RNAi/siRNA drug discovery.
  • Demonstrated experience in target identification and validation for RNAi therapeutics, with expertise across both hepatic and extrahepatic targets.
  • Hands‑on experience in RNAi/siRNA sequence design and optimization, including knowledge of bioinformatics tools for sequence analysis.
  • Experience with AOC/PCC modalities or conjugate technologies is highly preferred.
  • Strong background in molecular and cellular biology techniques, with proficiency in designing and executing hypothesis-driven research.
