Senior Backend Engineer (Python | FastAPI ) 

Role Summary 

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with 3–8 years of experience building scalable, cloud-native SaaS applications. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Python and FastAPI, strong knowledge of database architecture and performance optimization, and hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes. You will work closely with product, frontend, DevOps, and AI teams to build secure, high-performance backend systems capable of supporting enterprise-scale workloads. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance scalable backend services and APIs using FastAPI. 
• Architect and build scalable backend systems for multi-tenant SaaS platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and reliability. 
• Design, optimize, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases with a strong focus on schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and performance tuning. 
• Develop containerized applications using Docker and deploy them on Kubernetes environments. 
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments. 
• Integrate machine learning models and background task queues (Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kafka), and external APIs into production systems. 
• Ensure high code quality through unit and integration testing (e.g., PyTest), peer reviews, and best practices. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments. 
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design decisions. 
• Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs, system architecture, and deployment processes. 

Required Skills & Qualifications 

• 3–8 years of backend software development experience using Python. 
• B.E /B.Tech / M.Tech degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI (preferred), Flask, and/or Django in production environments. 
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL/MySQL, including database design, indexing, query optimization, transactions, and performance tuning. 
• Working knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL databases. 
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application deployment and orchestration. 
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, authentication (JWT/OAuth), and API security best practices. 
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and modern CI/CD pipelines. 
• Good understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrent processing in Python. 

Preferred Skills 

• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems. 
• Hands-on experience with Redis, Celery, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other messaging/streaming technologies. 
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. 
• Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSockets, and real-time data processing. 
• Familiarity with real time stream processing and AI pipelines 
• Understanding of data science workflows, statistics, or mathematics concepts. 
• Knowledge of observability tools, logging, monitoring, and application performance optimization.
