Senior Automation & AI Testing Architect

Role Responsibilities
- Design and own the end-to-end enterprise automation testing architecture covering UI, API, backend processing, batch pipelines, and integration validation across cloud-native and microservices-based platforms.
- Architect a scalable unified automation framework using Playwright and Cypress with BDD structure, shared libraries, reusable components, and standardized execution patterns.
- Lead automation coverage for React, .NET Core, Java Spring Boot, Kotlin microservices, containerized applications, and data pipeline systems.
- Implement AI-powered testing strategies, including:
- Intelligent test case generation and prioritization
- Self-healing locators and adaptive UI automation
- AI-assisted root cause analysis and failure classification
- Predictive test selection based on change impact
- Design backend and batch automation validation frameworks for ETL pipelines, reconciliation systems, Control-M triggered workloads, MQ-based integrations, and cloud-based data processing platforms.
- Architect secure enterprise authentication automation including PingID SSO handling, token/session reuse strategies, test identity management, and secrets handling.
- Define and implement robust test data orchestration strategies including deterministic dataset creation, teardown automation, isolation controls, and environment-safe execution models.
- Integrate automation execution into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab) supporting scheduled regression, on-demand execution, and release validation workflows.
- Build audit-ready reporting and evidence frameworks including screenshot capture, API payload logging, batch output validation reports, historical result retention, and compliance-ready traceability.
- Drive automation reliability by implementing:
- Flaky test detection and stabilization mechanisms
- Parallel execution optimization
- Smart waiting and synchronization strategies
- Collaborate with DevOps, platform engineering, security teams, and business stakeholders to ensure automation solutions align with enterprise standards and delivery timelines.
- Provide technical leadership, framework governance, code reviews, and architecture guidance to distributed automation and development teams.
Candidate Requirements
- 12+ years overall IT experience with 8+ years in enterprise automation testing and at least 5 years in automation architecture or technical leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with:
- Playwright (preferred) and Cypress
- BDD frameworks (Cucumber, Gherkin)
- API automation and backend validation frameworks
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript for automation framework development and AI integration.
- Proven experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines including execution orchestration, reporting, and pipeline optimization.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native platforms and container environments including OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-based workflow orchestration (Airflow / MWAA preferred).
- Experience validating batch processing systems, ETL pipelines, data reconciliation workflows, and large-scale integration flows.
- Hands-on experience or strong exposure to AI-driven test automation tools and practices, including:
- AI-based test optimization
- Self-healing automation frameworks
- Intelligent test analytics
- Machine learning-assisted defect prediction
- Strong knowledge of enterprise authentication and security patterns, including SSO integrations (PingID or similar), role-based access testing, and secure credential handling.
- Experience working in banking, financial services, or regulated enterprise environments is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear architectural decisions and execution plans.
