  • This is an opportunity to join a highly motivated and extremely active US based Global Corporates sector coverage team to deliver a comprehensive suite of corporate & investment banking solutions. At HSBC Global Corporates, we partner with the largest, most innovative and most international healthcare companies in achieving realizing their banking and corporate finance objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate origination and execution for clients in the sector across the spectrum of solutions with a primary focus in: Credit and Lending, Leveraged & Acquisition Finance, and Debt & Equity Capital Markets), Transaction Banking (including Global Liquidity & Cash Management and Global Trade & Receivables Finance), Global Markets (including Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, and Commodities) and Global Asset Management with the aim to grow banking revenues and improve relationship returns
  • Build the Global Corporates franchise value and reputation in the market
  • Combine client relationship management and strong risk assessment ensuring the required credit quality and requisite returns on risk
  • Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector, country and product expertise as appropriate
  • Aggressively grow HSBC's share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client and sector requirements
  • Monitor news, research, regulatory updates and industry trends to develop a comprehensive understanding of the sector and to synthesize how this will impact and present opportunities to the client portfolio
  • Liaise with relationship teams across all sites (including Europe, the Americas and Asia) to ensure the complete coverage of the sector portfolio from a local, regional and global perspective
  • Critically assess credit exposures of each customer through a vigorous review processes, active communications with global team members and frequent update of market intelligence
  • Work closely with the credit management and credit risk units to maintain a high degree of work quality, ensuring credit approval papers are tailored to the client and transaction in question
  • To be aware of and actively manage the Financial Crime Risk and relevant Operational Risk scenarios associated with the role, ensuring that all actions are taken to minimize the likelihood of such risk occurring
  • To ensure compliance with internal and external rules and regulations
  • Uphold the highest level of integrity and act as a role model for all HSBC values and business principles
  • Be a strong team player

Qualifications:

  • Strong willingness to learn, positive attitude and a drive to succeed in this role and beyond
  • A passion for people and building trusted relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and financial analysis
  • Strong financial modeling proficiency
  • Ability to undertake in-depth review of industry, competitors, client and products, and provide high quality analysis of opportunities and risk
  • Prior banking, consulting or sector experience required
  • Strong Windows capabilities Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • FINRA Series 63, 79, and s7 licenses required. A contingency period to obtain licensing can be provided at manager's discretion.
