Job Description

Secretlab is an international gaming chair brand seating over a million users worldwide, with our key markets in the United States, Europe and Singapore, where we are headquartered.

You will be an integral member in our world-class Global Logistics (Freight) team, which functions as a global control center, responsible for the smooth and secure delivery of our shipments to various 3PLs across 13 countries. In this role, you will be actively involved in shipment planning with internal stakeholders and external vendors such as logistics service providers (LSP).

Our Freight team is essential for the smooth delivery of our inventory across the globe and supporting key partnerships programs with world-renowned brands such as Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, as well as international esports organizers such as Riot Games for their League of Legends global tournaments.

Responsibilities

Freight origin planning

  • Assign lane codes for all shipments, ensuring optimal and valid assignments across all modes of transport (MOT).
  • Collaborate with Freight Procurement to maximize and optimize freight contract allocation and overall shipment cost.
  • Partner with supply and demand planners as well as freight operations teams to align production/shipment schedules with freight space utilization and in-market dates for sales requirements
  • Oversee all origin-related operations, consisting of either cross-docking or warehousing operations that involve shipment movement and coordination with suppliers and Logistics Service Providers (LSPs). This includes sequencing and rescheduling of shipments based on business and cross-functional needs.
  • Manage the acceptance of all non-committed freight in assigned regions.
  • Act as the primary point person for managing and coordinating internal and external deliverables through continuous monitoring, prioritisation, and reallocation.

Non-standard shipments

  • Be accountable and responsible for coordinating all non-standard shipments (including exception handling) while ensuring tasks are fulfilled based on aligned timelines and requirements from stakeholders.
  • Non-standard shipments includes but not limited to: Events (international e-sports tournaments, exhibitions) and VIP recipients (seeding, reviewer, b2b corporate sales)
  • Identify and compare alternative delivery arrangements (including air & ocean freight) initiatives to determine the most cost and time efficient method
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with LSPs to secure the optimal freight arrangements tailored to business needs
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all non-standard shipment requirements across the wider organization, bridging internal/external stakeholder needs and requests with logistical limitations

General

  • Consistently seek opportunities for process improvements and automation in freight planning processes. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Any other ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Logistics & Supply Chain, or the equivalent
  • At least 3-4 years in Freight Operations and Freight Procurement/Sourcing
  • Proven problem-solver and effective negotiator with regional exposure and extensive network of relationship within the freight forwarding industry
  • Intermediate proficiency introducing and utilizing various business tools (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, NetSuite, Tableau)
  • Understanding of the Ocean/Air Freight industry and shipping incoterms (i.e FCA, CIF, DAP)
  • Good command of written and spoken Mandarin (to converse with Mandarin-speaking vendors/partners)
  • Self-starter with excellent communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with all levels internally, 3PLs, freight forwarders and overseas suppliers
  • Be an effective communicator on both technical and non-technical topics to customers and internal team members
  • Decisive, action-oriented, results-focused

Bonuses

  • Work experience in operational logistics, shipping, freight forwarding industry is a major plus
  • Experience in successful system implementation or processes would be a bonus
