Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Singapore for a Senior Associate / Associate in the Family & Private Client Disputes practice. The role involves advising and representing clients in a wide range of family and private client disputes, including matters such as divorce, custody, maintenance, division of assets, succession, trusts, and estate-related disputes.

Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, affidavits, and other court documents; preparing legal opinions and correspondence; managing case files and timelines; and appearing in court hearings, mediations, and conferences.

The relevant Senior Associate / Associate will liaise closely with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders, and will be expected to contribute to strategy development and settlement negotiations. The role also includes supervising or mentoring junior team members where appropriate, supporting business development initiatives, and staying current on developments in family and private client law.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in family law and private client disputes, including litigation involving divorce, custody, maintenance, asset division, succession, trusts, and estates.
  • Solid legal research, analytical, and drafting skills, with the ability to prepare clear, precise pleadings, affidavits, opinions, and advisory documents.
  • Effective advocacy and courtroom skills, including experience with hearings, trials, mediations, and other dispute resolution processes.
  • Excellent client-facing and communication abilities, with a professional, empathetic approach to sensitive and complex personal matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines, work collaboratively within a team, and mentor junior lawyers or trainees when required.
  • Admission to practice law in Singapore, with relevant PQE in family and/or private client disputes; experience in a leading law firm or specialised practice is advantageous.
  • High ethical standards, sound professional judgment, and commitment to delivering world-class service and innovative solutions to clients.
  • Willingness to contribute to practice development, participate in knowledge-sharing, and maintain up-to-date
