We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior / Assistant Project Manager to join the Division of Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore. The successful candidate will contribute to our precision oncology efforts, with a focus on developmental therapeutics in targeted therapy and immuno-oncology. The candidate will be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment comprising data scientists, laboratory researchers, and clinician scientist, which aim to advance translational research in lung cancer.
The Senior / Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for managing research projects, oversee end-to-end project delivery, and play a strategic role in partnership building to foster collaboration and align efforts with all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Translational research projects leadership & portfolio management
- Provide overarching leadership and coordination across all research projects
- Maintain a high-level view of all projects (academic and industry), ensuring alignment with programme strategy, scientific priorities, and institutional goals
- Work closely with PIs and scientific leads to translate scientific objectives into operational plans and trackable milestones
- Facilitate cross-project integration, ensuring that findings, resources, and processes flow cohesively across the research portfolio
2. End-to-end project delivery & operational execution
- Oversee and ensure timely project execution, monitoring and closure for all research studies
- Develop robust project plans and risk mitigation strategies
3. Stakeholder engagement, communication & partnership management
- Serve as the central point of contact and communication conduit for internal and external stakeholders
- Manage ongoing communication and relationship-building to maintain trust, alignment and transparency across all stakeholders
- Oversee public relations aspects of projects, including professional representation to industry partners, sponsors and external collaborators
- Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively manage expectations, addressing issues before they escalate
Key Requirements:
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Master's degree in cancer biology, immunology, biomedical science, molecular biology, project management or related discipline
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in research project management, clinical research operations, translational science programmes, or equivalent roles
- Strong understanding of research governance, regulatory and institutional compliance
- Strong track record in project management or strategic partnership management
- Demonstrated experience in multi-institutional or international research collaborations
- Wet-lab skills would be beneficial
- Highly accountable and proactive with strong ownership of tasks and deliverables
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to engage all stakeholders and regulators
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and commitment to quality standards
- Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
