Job Summary:
The Senior Technician is responsible for assembling and testing high-quality products promptly while ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements. The role involves hands-on electrical and mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, process improvement, and field service support to ensure the successful delivery and operation of equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
. Perform electrical, mechanical (module assembly and integration), and general assembly work for in-house and customer products in accordance with work instructions, assembly manuals, engineering drawings, and quality standards.
. Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis of assemblies, sub-systems, and equipment to ensure product functionality and reliability.
. Support equipment installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing activities as required.
. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational efficiency.
. Provide feedback and recommendations to the Engineering team on assembly processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment improvements.
. Assist in developing and updating assembly procedures, work instructions, and best practices.
. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations, quality requirements, and company procedures.
. Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
. Provide technical support and customer service during local and overseas field service assignments when required.
. Mentor and guide junior technicians on assembly techniques, troubleshooting methods, and best practices.
Requirements:
. Minimum ITE, Nitec, Higher Nitec, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
. Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in equipment, machinery, or system assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.
. Experience in automation equipment, semiconductor equipment, industrial machinery, or precision engineering environments is an advantage.
. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
. Strong hands-on skills in mechanical and electrical assembly.
. Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
. Familiarity with quality and safety procedures in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
. Willingness to travel locally and overseas for installation, commissioning, maintenance, and customer support activities when required.
. Able to perform manual tasks and comfortable performing hands-on assembly and field service work.
