Supervise, mentor and provide guidance to a team of junior aquarists, overseeing their work assignments, effectively managing resources to meet project deadlines and maintaining high standards of animal care.
Perform animal husbandry and complete underwater tasks for assigned animals to the highest standards.
Review, prepare and deliver daily diets and nutritional requirements to animals under care.
Coordinate animal medical procedures and movement of animals between locations.
Supervise and maintain cleanliness of habitats under care.
Perform general maintenance of habitats, repair tools and equipment.
Perform observation and data recording of animal behavior.
Perform daily siphoning of debris/waste and cleaning of acrylic panels in habitats.
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders for new events, projects and activities.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Marine Science, Aquaculture, Biological or Life Sciences.
Scuba diving certification (Open Water Dive and above) and physically fit to dive.
Knowledge of animal management software.
Confident working in an aquatic environment.
Good leadership, project management and organizational skills.
Passionate about working with animals.
Passion for environmental sustainability and conservation.
Able to perform shift work, including on weekends and public holidays.
