Our client is a tier 1 high-frequency trading firm, and their commitment to technological innovation has been critical to their continued success in securing a prominent position in the financial trading industry. They are seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to join their team in Singapore, and the ideal candidate should possess rich knowledge of financial markets and trade lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Business Users from Front to Back Office to support their mission-critical trading applications
- Collaborate with in-house developers to support / improve their proprietary trading platforms, and manage trading application vendors for any third-party systems support and implementation
- Identify opportunities to automate manual tasks and improve overall application support processes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for application support, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address bottlenecks or potential problems
Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or related discipline, with high preference in Engineering focused degrees
- 6+ years of experience in Application Support within financial markets or hedge fund environments
- Strong understanding of enterprise software architectures, databases, and cloud computing concepts
- Experience in supporting applications built on Linux, utilising programming languages like C++, C#, and Python
- Proficient in scripting and automation tools (e.g. Bash, Python, PowerShell)
- Knowledge of financial instruments, trading workflows, and investment management processes is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- High adaptability to fast-paced environments and good attention to detail
