The Analyst / Senior Analyst, Qualitative Consulting supports the delivery of qualitative research projects across Singapore and Malaysia, while contributing to broader initiatives across the APAC Qualitative Practice.

This role plays a key part in executing high-quality qualitative work - including fieldwork, analysis, insight synthesis, reporting, and coordination - to help clients understand consumer behaviour and make more confident brand, innovation, and customer experience decisions.

Experience or interest in Ethnography, Semiotics, Design Thinking, Behavioural Science, or Cultural Insight is highly valued and contributes to deeper, more strategic insight development.

Project Execution & Research Support

  • Support endtoend delivery of qualitative studies including recruitment, scheduling, logistics coordination, and fieldwork setup.
  • Assist in moderating or comoderating indepth interviews (IDIs), focus groups (FGDs), ethnographies, or digital qual sessions (based on experience level).
  • Prepare discussion guides, stimulus materials, and fieldwork documentation under guidance from senior team members.
  • Coordinate with operations, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Insight Analysis & Reporting

  • Take detailed observation notes, summarize key themes, and support coding, clustering, and early insight generation.
  • Conduct desk research, category reviews, and cultural scans to enrich analysis.
  • Assist in developing client reports, slides, charts, and presentations with clear storytelling and visual clarity.
  • Contribute to crafting insightled recommendations under supervision of managers and senior consultants.

Client & Internal Stakeholder Support

  • Support the preparation of client presentations, workshops, and deliverables.
  • Participate in internal meetings, client briefings, and debrief discussions as needed.
  • Ensure high-quality outputs and timely communication with project stakeholders.

Quality, Process & Operational Discipline

  • Ensure accurate documentation, data organization, and adherence to NIQ quality standards.
  • Support operational and administrative tasks such as project tracking, budgeting inputs, and workflow coordination.
  • Help implement improvements in tools, checklists, and processes to increase team efficiency.

Contribution to Practice & Capability Building

  • Contribute to thought starters, case studies, and internal bestpractice materials.
  • Share learnings and insights with the broader team to support capability development.
  • Stay up to date with qualitative trends, digital methodologies, and cultural insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Communications, Marketing, Behavioural Science, or related fields.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in research or consulting (qualitative preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with qualitative methods (IDIs, FGDs, ethnography, online qual) is a plus willingness to learn is essential.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with digital qual tools is an advantage.
