Job Description

This role sits at Senoko Energy's Risk, Insurance and Internal Audit function — a lean, high-trust team with broad scope and direct exposure to senior management and shareholders. The successful candidate will own credit, market and counterparty risk oversight, coordinate the internal audit programme, and support the broader risk and insurance agenda. It is an opportunity to operate across three distinct risk pillars in a commercially significant business, with real ownership from day one.

Your Role:

1) Credit, Market and counterparty risk oversight

  • Own and maintain the Credit Risk, Counterparty Risk, Market Risk MtM, and Retail Fixed Price Credit Framework methodologies, as well as the relevant Risk Management (ERM) frameworks.
  • Perform daily valuation and reporting of counterparty derivative positions, and oversee the counterparty risk vs exposure limits framework.
  • Create and validate price curves, including ICE Brent, JKM, Dated Brent, FX, and discount curves.
  • Provide independent weekly calculation of portfolio market risk exposures and monitor positions against defined market risk limits.
  • Conduct daily monitoring of in-house Vesting hedge exposures against limits.
  • Manage credit analyses for counterparties.

2) Middle office and trade management

  • Independently verify fuel hedge related derivative trade confirmations and maintain trade documentation.
  • Perform monthly independent valuation and reporting of derivative positions for settlement and accounting, including interest rate swap positions and hedge effectiveness calculations.
  • Oversee Fuel Hedging & Procurement and Portfolio Management activities, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, and countercheck variables and data used in report and model generation.
  • Coordinate new counterparty applications, ISDA negotiations, suitability analysis, Board paper approval, and ongoing counterparty data maintenance.

3) Internal audit coordination

  • Coordinate the annual internal audit programme with the appointed internal audit service provider, including planning, scoping, and scheduling of fieldwork.
  • Act as the primary liaison between auditors and Heads of Divisions, facilitating engagement and ensuring timely endorsement of audit findings.
  • Track remediation of audit findings to closure and report status to management.
  • Support governance reporting on internal audit matters, including periodic updates to senior management.

4) Risk, insurance and ancillary support

  • Support the broader Risk, Insurance and Internal Audit section on insurance programme renewals, credit risk assessments, and ad hoc risk projects.
  • Provide shareholder reporting, including sensitivity analysis, position and exposure reporting.
  • Provide hedge accounting reporting (current vs non-current MtM valuation).
  • Support the daily template provision for Retail pre-trade credit validation and provide credit analysis for customers applying for credit framework exceptions.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Ideally 3–7 years of relevant experience in risk management, with exposure to market, credit, and/or enterprise risk
  • Middle office experience (trade confirmation and contract management) or comparable exposure to derivatives operations
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including solid working knowledge of functions (lookups, conditional logic, pivot tables) and the ability to work with large datasets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly with senior stakeholders including Heads of Divisions and external parties
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and sound commercial judgement
  • The offered job grade/designation will be based on candidate's experience, competencies and skillsets

Good to Have

  • Exposure to internal audit processes, either in-house or through an audit firm
  • Energy sector or commodities experience (power, gas, fuel hedging)
  • Familiarity with insurance programme management or credit risk frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently in a lean team and manage multiple workstreams concurrently
