We are looking for a Senior Analyst (Data & Systems) with strong analytical and systems expertise to join our growing team.
Position Overview: This role supports the LNG trading business by delivering data engineering and Data/AI initiatives that enable analytics, reporting, and digital transformation, while providing operational support for the ETRM trading platform. The role will focus on building scalable cloud data solutions, enabling data-driven decision-making among teams, and improving business processes through automation.
Job Responsibilities:
Data Engineering & Project Delivery
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines integrating APIs, databases, streamlining platforms, ETRM, and external market data sources
- Develop and optimise robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Services and Databricks
- Implement data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure data accuracy and reliability
- Lead Data/AI initiatives end-to-end, from requirements gathering and proof-of-concept to production deployment
- Act as a delivery lead for data-related projects, coordinating stakeholders and managing timelines based on business needs
- Apply data engineering and AI techniques to automate workflows, enhance operational efficiency, and generate actionable insights for the commercial team
ETRM Integration & Operational Support
- Provide operational support for the ETRM trading platform, including system health monitoring, batch jobs, and end-of-day (EOD) processes
- Support business users with trade corrections, reprocessing, and operational issue resolution
- Maintain static data and manage user access in line with governance and control requirements
- Work closely across teams such as risk, operations, and commercial teams to ensure ETRM data is fit-for-purpose for downstream analytics and reporting
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 5 to 8 years of experience in data engineering and managing enterprise applications, preferably in the energy, commodities, or LNG industry
- Strong hands-on experience in cloud-based data engineering, preferably on Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Databricks). Databricks Certified Data Engineer (Associate or Professional) certification is highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark/PySpark with experience building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines
- Solid understanding of lakehouse architectures, data modelling, and data quality management
- Experience delivering data projects end-to-end, including stakeholder engagement and project coordination
- Exposure to production system support and operational troubleshooting
- Familiarity with ETRM system and trading concepts is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of APIs, streaming data, BI tools (e.g. Power BI), and CI/CD, Git and data governance (Unity Catalog) is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing business priorities
