Senior AI Engineer (Team Lead) Microsoft Copilot Studio & Azure OpenAI

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer (Team Lead) to lead the end-to-end technical delivery of an AI SCM Coach MVP within an accelerated 8-week timeline.

The solution is an enterprise-grade conversational AI platform, built on Microsoft Copilot Studio and Azure OpenAI, with strict requirements around security, grounding, and compliance.

You will act as the Architecture Owner, driving design decisions, LLM behavior, RAG implementation, and production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Architecture Ownership:
• Design and deploy the end-to-end solution using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry (formerly Azure AI Studio).
• LLM Engineering:
• Configure Azure OpenAI (GPT-4o), engineer system prompts to enforce a consistent Coach persona, and implement expertise-based response logic (Beginner vs. Expert).
• RAG Implementation:
• Set up Azure AI Search to index PDF/Word SOPs and enforce strict grounding with citations to prevent hallucinations.
• Security & Compliance:
• Apply Azure AI Content Safety filters, ensure data sovereignty, and enforce enterprise security standards (no public/free models like ChatGPT).
• DevOps & Delivery:
• Manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, handling version control, environments, and controlled releases.
• Technical Leadership:
• Guide and mentor engineers, review designs, and ensure delivery quality under tight timelines.

Required Skills

• Azure OpenAI Service (GPT-4 / GPT-4o), prompt engineering, model configuration
• Azure AI Search and RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architectures
• Microsoft Copilot Studio (formerly Power Virtual Agents)
• Python or C# for Azure Functions and backend extensions
• Enterprise Security: IAM, RBAC, data privacy, compliance controls
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD best practices

Good to Have

• Experience with Public Sector or Manufacturing solutions
• Knowledge of Semantic Kernel or LangChain
• Familiarity with Azure Monitor and telemetry-driven optimization
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership skills
