Job Summary
The Senior Administrator ensures efficient daily office operations and leads key initiatives including the Young Leaders Programme and IISS Internship Programme, requiring strong organizational, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily office administrative operations, including scheduling, correspondence, supplies, and facilities management to ensure smooth functioning
- Streamline administrative workflows and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of the Young Leaders Programme to achieve programme objectives
- Engage and liaise effectively with staff, programme participants, and external partners to support programme success and collaboration
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and interns to foster a supportive and productive team environment
- Track progress and prepare detailed reports on office operations and programme outcomes, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and impact
Required competencies and certifications
- Proven administrative expertise with a minimum of 5 years experience in office management or operations
- Demonstrated programme management skills, including experience with youth or leadership development initiatives
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Leadership ability to supervise and mentor junior staff and volunteers
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field
- Professional certifications in office administration or project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) are advantageous
- Experience in event and project delivery with a track record of planning and executing programmes or events
