Position Overview
The Senior Manager, Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting and financial reporting function across Lightnet and its related entities. The role oversees month-end and year-end closing, group consolidation, statutory reporting, audit, tax coordination, financial controls, and accounting operations in a fast-paced fintech environment.
The position works closely with senior management, regional finance teams, business functions, auditors, tax advisors, banks, regulators, and other external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting while continuously strengthening finance processes, controls, and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process across multiple legal entities.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
Review general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Oversee intercompany accounting, reconciliation, and elimination entries.
Manage multi-entity and multi-currency accounting activities.
Ensure accounting treatments and financial statements comply with applicable accounting standards, including IFRS and relevant local GAAP.
Review monthly financial results and investigate significant movements and variances.
Prepare and review financial reporting packages for senior management and other stakeholders.
Lead or support group consolidation across Lightnet's entities and jurisdictions.
Ensure accurate intercompany balances and timely resolution of reconciliation differences.
Review consolidation adjustments, elimination entries, and foreign currency translation.
Maintain consistency in accounting policies and reporting practices across entities.
Coordinate with local and regional finance teams to ensure reporting deadlines are achieved.
Establish, maintain, and continuously improve accounting policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
Ensure appropriate controls over payments, journal entries, reconciliations, cash management, and financial reporting.
Identify accounting and operational risks and implement appropriate mitigating controls.
Strengthen balance sheet governance through regular account reconciliation and review.
Support finance governance and compliance initiatives across the organisation.
Lead and coordinate annual statutory audits and group audit requirements.
Act as a key contact for external auditors and ensure audit schedules and supporting documentation are delivered on time.
Coordinate corporate tax, indirect tax/GST/VAT, and other statutory filings with internal teams and external advisors.
Support regulatory financial reporting applicable to Lightnet's fintech and payment-related operations.
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements across relevant jurisdictions.
Provide oversight of core accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, fixed assets, intercompany accounting, and cash-related accounting.
Monitor the quality and timeliness of accounting transactions and reconciliations.
Work closely with treasury and business teams to maintain accurate cash and bank accounting.
Ensure finance operations can scale effectively as transaction volumes and business complexity increase.
Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
Partner with department heads to monitor operating expenses and financial performance.
Prepare variance analysis and provide explanations of actual performance against budget and forecast.
Provide financial insights to management to support business planning and decision-making.
Collaborate closely with Operations, Treasury, Compliance, Risk, Technology, and other functions.
Finance Transformation & Process Improvement
Drive continuous improvement of month-end closing, reconciliation, reporting, and accounting workflows.
Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual finance processes.
Support ERP, accounting system, payment platform, and finance technology implementations.
Improve reporting accuracy, process efficiency, scalability, and control through standardisation and automation.
Develop finance processes capable of supporting Lightnet's continued regional and international growth.
Lead, coach, and develop members of the accounting and finance team.
Review work performed by team members and ensure high standards of accuracy and accountability.
Establish clear responsibilities, deadlines, and performance expectations.
Build a collaborative and continuous-improvement culture within the finance function.
Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of finance team members where required.
