The Senior Accounting and Tax Executive is a middle-management or high-level individual contributor role responsible for the full spectrum of accounting and tax compliance. You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their financial operations align with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), ACRA, and IRAS regulations.
Full Set Management: Handle the full spectrum of accounts (AP, AR, GL) for a diverse client portfolio.
Financial Statements: Prepare and review unaudited financial statements (Compilation Reports) in accordance with the Singapore Companies Act.
Management Reporting: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including cash flow statements and budget variances.
Consolidation: (For senior levels) Perform group consolidation for clients with multiple entities, ensuring precise elimination entries.
Corporate Tax: Compute and file Corporate Income Tax (CIT) returns (Form C/C-S) and Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI).
GST: Prepare and submit quarterly GST (Form 5) filings and assist with GST registration/de-registration.
Withholding Tax: Manage the computation and timely filing of Withholding Tax (WHT).
IRAS Liaison: Act as the representative for clients during IRAS queries or audits.
Audit Coordination: Manage year-end audit processes by preparing audit schedules and liaising with external auditors to resolve technical issues.
Client Advisory: Provide advice on basic accounting issues, internal controls, and tax planning (including relevant tax incentives).
XBRL Filing: Prepare and file financial statements in XBRL format as required by ACRA.
Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
Certification: Professional qualification (e.g., CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA) is highly preferred.
Accreditation: SCTP (Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals) accreditation is a significant advantage.
Years of Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a professional accounting firm in Singapore.
Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with cloud accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks Online, or MYOB.
Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Singapore Companies Act, Income Tax Act, and SFRS.
Meticulousness: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal English (proficiency in Mandarin is often a plus for regional clients).
Independence: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client portfolios with minimal supervision.
