We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. You will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting government-funded programme administration.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning the numbers, improving processes, and working closely with stakeholders across the business. You will play a key role in maintaining strong financial controls while helping to build a scalable finance function to support the company's continued growth.
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Manage the full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, ROU, and bank reconciliations.
Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet schedules, and supporting reconciliations.
Ensure accurate revenue recognition, including management of deferred revenue and contract liabilities.
Reconcile revenue across CRM, learning management systems, payment gateways, and accounting platforms.
Support the preparation of financial reports and analysis for management decision-making.
Compliance, Audit & Tax
Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during statutory audits.
Support the preparation and filing of GST returns, Estimated Chargeable Income (ECI), and corporate tax submissions.
Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), IRAS regulations, and internal policies.
Maintain proper accounting documentation and audit-ready records.
Government Grants & Funding Compliance
Oversee financial administration and claims processing for government-funded programmes.
Ensure grant claims are accurately supported, documented, and submitted on time.
Maintain compliance with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) funding requirements and audit standards.
Support grant audits, compliance reviews, and funding-related enquiries.
Finance Operations & Process Improvement
Manage day-to-day finance operations, including vendor payments, learner fee collections, and employee expense claims.
Support payroll reconciliation and commission calculations.
Review and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and finance SOPs.
Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve reporting efficiency.
Support implementation and optimisation of finance systems, including Xero and related workflow tools.
Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
ACCA, CPA, CA Singapore, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
4-7 years of accounting experience, preferably with a combination of audit and commercial finance exposure.
Strong technical accounting knowledge, including SFRS, GST, revenue recognition, and accrual accounting.
Experience managing full-set accounts and month-end close independently.
Familiarity with government grants, SkillsFuture funding, or education-sector finance is advantageous.
Hands-on experience with Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting systems.
Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
