Objectives of the position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, with a strong focus on month-end closing, general accounting, fixed assets, tax compliance, and process improvement. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and able to work independently within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure a timely and accurate financial month end closing and reporting.
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
- Manage day-to-day general accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, fixed asset accounting, and staff expense claims
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
- Analyze fluctuations in key balance sheet and P&L accounts to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
- Support the preparation of corporate income tax, GST, and other statutory filings, including statutory surveys.
- Actively seeking areas of improvement and introducing automation and other measures to improve process efficiency.
- Any other adhoc duties assigned.
Skills & Qualification:
- Diploma/Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification.
- Candidate with at least 8 years working experience in Financial Accounting.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive work attitude.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/SFRS and financial reporting principles,
- Good Knowledge of SAP-FICO would be highly preferred.
- Experience in setting up Shared Service Centre is a plus.
- Mature personality with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
