About the Company:
Our client is a Swiss pharmaceutical based corporation that provides solutions to address the evolving needs of patients worldwide. Their main discoveries are development, manufacture and marketing of prescription and generic pharmaceutical products and eye care products.
Role Overview:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a range of critical financial tasks. This includes managing General Ledger (GL) and Tax Accounting, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded. The role also involves preparing Management and Statutory Reporting. This role is particularly crucial as it will cover team members who are dedicated to the SAP migration project, which is expected to last until August 2027. The specialist will need to ensure that all financial processes continue to run smoothly during this period, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries in SAP.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts in Blackline within deadlines.
- Extract and prepare data for internal reporting such as Foreign Credit Reporting System (FCRS) and the client's organization Product Margin Reporting
- Coordinate statutory audits and prepare financial statement
- Review significant contract documents as defined in NAM and Local Supplemental Information (LSI), ensuring Accounting Position Paper (APP) /Accounting Position Memo (APM) is in place if needed.
- Serve as the primary contact, interacting proactively with stakeholders and focusing on customer service.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and NOCC teams to resolve issues and escalate as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with the client's organisation Accounting Manual, Financial Controls Manual, and regulatory requirements. Perform ad-hoc tasks or financial analysis as required.
2. Tax
- Prepare and/or review tax returns, including corporate, withholding, and indirect taxes
- Prepare and/or review income tax and deferred tax provisions, tax reporting forms, balance sheet reconciliations of relevant tax accounts, and other tax submissions as required by the global management reporting team. Handle queries from tax agents and IRAS
- Prepare entity profitability report, transfer pricing documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/ACCA, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in General Ledger, Reporting and Tax
- Proficient with SAP, Excel, Microsoft Office 365
- Good communication skills
- Able to work independently and liaise with auditors, tax agents and internal stakeholders
