We are seeking a highly effective Senior Accountant/ Accountant to supports to join our Corporate Finance Team in our department dedicated to employment and employability!

In this role, you will support NTUC's sub-department. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you will support the smooth running of finance day-to-day operations as well as month-end and financial year-end closing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full set of accounts, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger, with timely and accurate review of invoices, payments, receipts, journals and month-end closing schedules.
  • Coordinate and manage statutory, grant and internal audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responses to audit queries, and follow-through on audit requirements and action items.
  • Prepare, monitor and analyse annual budgets, financial forecasts, and cashflow projections, including drafting budgetary papers and providing variance analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Review, draft and maintain finance policies, procedures and process documentation to support compliance, clarity, operational consistency and sound internal controls.
  • Partner with internal departments and external stakeholders to address finance-related matters and provide financial guidance.
  • Support finance system enhancements, IT-related initiatives and process improvements to streamline workflows, improve data quality and strengthen governance and internal controls.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members through work review, knowledge sharing and coaching to ensure timely and quality delivery of finance operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with supervisory skills, preferably within a public sector environment.
  • Knowledge and hands on experience in SAP S/4 accounting system is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting standards, experience with Grant Accounting will be an added advantage.
  • Comfortable navigating structured governance and administrative processes, with a pragmatic approach to compliance and a clear focus on delivering outcomes.
  • Positive and resourceful individual with strong active listening skills to gather information and anticipate next steps.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and possess strong attention to details and financial acumen.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise, and deliver accurate work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Good written communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.

Working Location: Jurong East, Devan Nair Institute

Designation and salary will be commensurate with experience.
