As a Security Engineer II at JPMorganChase within the Cybersecurity & Tech Controls, you are part of an agile team that works to deliver software solutions that satisfy pre-defined functional and user requirements with the added dimension of preventing misuse, circumvention, and malicious behavior. As an emerging member of the security engineering team, you execute basic software solutions through the design, development, and troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical area, while gaining skills and experience to grow within your role. You will be supporting our Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) product/platform, which is composed of the CrowdStrike Falcon platform and Cortex XDR platform. Together, these platforms secure over 800,000 endpoints across the firm and enable our Attack Analysis Analysts to detect and respond to threats throughout the organization. In this role, you will become a subject matter expert in both XDR platforms, developing deep technical expertise to support and enhance our endpoint security capabilities.
Job responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security solutions for an enterprise-scale environment
- Develop subject matter expertise in CrowdStrike Falcon and Cortex XDR platforms
- Partner with SRE to perform production changes
- Identify, solution, and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual processes and increase platform resiliency and monitoring
- Certify new agent versions released by vendors and partner with platform teams to deploy them into the environment
- Develop secure and high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
- Implement complex business logic in Python, Bash, PowerShell, and other scripting languages
- Engage effectively with third-party vendors and collaborate with a broad range of internal teams
- Minimize security vulnerabilities by following industry insights and government regulations to continuously evolve security protocols
- Work with stakeholders and business leaders to understand security needs and recommend business modifications during periods of vulnerability
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related disciplines
- 2+ years of experience with cloud engineering, deployment engineering, DevOps engineering, or equivalent
- Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems internals
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and associated automation tooling
- Knowledge of a programming/scripting language for automation and integration tasks
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Proficiency in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS security)
- Strong analytical skills with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to solve complex challenges
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with XDR platforms and products, with familiarity in CrowdStrike Falcon or Cortex XDR
- Cloud computing related certifications with an AWS focus (e.g., Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
