About the Role
Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a Securities Settlements Analyst to join its Operations team in Singapore. This role supports Japan market settlement activities and offers the opportunity to work closely with trading desks, counterparties, and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of securities transactions while supporting operational risk controls and post-trade processes.
Key Responsibilities
. Support end-to-end securities settlement activities for the Japan market
. Ensure timely settlement of securities and cash transactions
. Liaise closely with brokers, custodian banks, agent banks, counterparties, and internal stakeholders to resolve settlement issues
. Perform trade pre-matching and monitor settlement status to minimise failed trades
. Investigate and resolve trade breaks and reconciliation discrepancies
. Prepare reports and maintain accurate operational records
. Ensure adherence to market deadlines, operational procedures, and risk control requirements
. Support process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency efforts
Requirements
. Diploma or Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or related disciplines
. 1-3 years of experience in securities settlements, trade support, operations, reconciliations, or related banking/financial services functions
. Familiarity with equities products and post-trade processes will be advantageous
. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
. Able to work effectively in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment
. Meticulous, organised, and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Preferred Skills
. Ability to communicate in Japanese, both written and spoken, to liaise with Japanese-speaking stakeholders and counterparties in the course of work will be advantageous
