The Section Manager, Indirect Sourcing is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories across AEM. The role drives cost competitiveness, supplier performance, contract governance, compliance, and risk management while ensuring effective support for business operations.
The position partners closely with HR, IT, Facilities, EHS, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Legal, and Operations to deliver sustainable value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement governance. The role will lead sourcing initiatives, commercial negotiations, supplier selection, and contract management across a broad range of indirect categories. The role supports the overall supply chain strategy and governance framework being established within AEM
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories to achieve cost, quality, service, and risk objectives.
- Lead RFQ, RFP, and tender processes from requirement definition through supplier selection and contract award.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, service levels, and contractual agreements with suppliers.
- Manage supplier relationships and conduct periodic supplier performance reviews.
- Drive supplier consolidation and preferred supplier programmes to improve governance and purchasing effectiveness.
- Establish and maintain procurement contracts and framework agreements to improve contract coverage.
- Analyse spending patterns and identify cost reduction, productivity, and value engineering opportunities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to support sourcing requirements and procurement planning activities.
- Evaluate supplier operational, financial, compliance, and business continuity risks.
- Support procurement governance, purchasing compliance, and policy implementation across the organisation.
- Develop sourcing dashboards, spend analytics, and performance metrics to drive data-based decision making.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and supplier due diligence activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and user experience.
- Drive sustainability, responsible sourcing, and supplier compliance initiatives where applicable.
- Support special projects and transformation initiatives related to procurement and supply chain excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience.
- Proven experience managing indirect procurement categories within a manufacturing or technology environment.
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract management experience.
- Familiarity with supplier performance management and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience leading competitive tenders and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and spend analytic stools.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
